While weddings and corporate events account for a lot of the work Stick It On does nowadays, we still have a very healthy amount of private party bookings too. 2015 saw us hosting birthday parties at the rate of about one every fortnight right throughout the year, with 40ths and 50ths being particularly prominent. As is always the case, you can never tell what music is going to be submitted by those wanting to DJ – and it’s a lot of fun seeing a playlist coming together in the weeks before a party.

Though the basic concept for Stick It On is the same, no two parties are ever alike and while the music is the number one factor in creating the atmosphere, the guests and the location play a big part in it too. The beauty of birthdays is that they can be celebrated anywhere, and last year we hosted parties in Fatboy Slim’s Big Beach Cafe, the Sussex Yacht Club and Stanmer House in Brighton among other diverse places. People’s houses are also regular locations used for a good old Stick It On knees up, with homes in Muswell Hill, Cambridge and the Isle of Wight all being transformed into dancefloor rocking party pads for a night.
