First Dance Songs 2017…
According to a recent survey of first dance songs, Whitney Houston’s version of I Will Always Love You is the nation’s favourite. That raised a collective eyebrow here at Stick It On HQ, as we’ve certainly never had it chosen at a wedding reception party we’ve hosted. With that in mind, we decided to put all the first dance songs chosen by our happy couples into a Spotify playlist for your listening pleasure.

We think it’s a lovely mix of songs and quite revealing about the people who do book a Stick It On wedding reception party. There’s hardly anything you’d call ‘modern’ for starters, aside from Noel Gallagher and Elbow. Our happy couples know their music and, as not one song was picked more than once, they all have an individual streak. There’s also nothing you’d think of as ‘cheesy’, which the Whitney Houston number might well be classed as. Motown acts and legendary solo performers are plentiful, showing that a certain classiness is important to our clients.
Our clients love music…
These aren’t random songs chosen just because they’re famous or popular. You can tell that effort has gone into choosing them and that Stick It On appears to naturally attract music lovers and clients with a distinct image of themselves and their likes and dislikes. Any playlist of first dance songs that features Stevie Wonder, Nina Simone and Marvin Gaye is alright by Stick It On. Over the coming weeks we’ll be looking back over previous years’ first dance songs to see if similarities can be found. We’re pretty sure we’ve never had a song picked more than once, which is pretty remarkable as the Whitney tune was picked by almost a quarter of all people questioned for the survey.
