A Stick It On Wedding at Two Woods Estate

Back in April on a sunny Saturday afternoon, Kelvyn & Gemma tied the knot at Two Woods Estate in Pulborough and Stick It On were there to make sure their night went off with a bang!

Hidden away in the woods sits a beautiful arch accompanied by wooden benches and surrounded by Red Wood trees – it was a perfect location for Kelvyn & Gemma to exchange their vows.

In 1852,  William Lobb visited San Francisco, where he first heard of mammoth conifers in the foothills of California’s Sierra Nevada range. Lobb knew this ‘vegetable monster’ would trigger an enormous craze in British horticultural circles, and hurried to the Sierra foothills too see the remarkable tree in its native habitat. He found about 90 towering trees and reported that a felled tree had measured 300 feet with a diameter of over 29 feet near its base.

Lobb collected seed, shoots, and seedlings. In fewer than two years’ time these would give rise to thousands of saplings, snatched up by wealthy Victorians to adorn great British estates.

The larger-than-life conifer, so symbolic of the vast American wilderness, suddenly became a status symbol in Britain.

Stick It On kicked off the evening’s celebrations with DJ Bride & Groom aka Kelyvn & Gemma opening with Fatboy Slim’s Wonderful Night followed by Alison Limerick’s Where Love Lies and finishing off their set with their first dance to The Wannadies’ You & Me Song.

With a staggering 37 submissions in total, we managed to organise the final list of 19 DJ sets to perform on the night which included some awesome sets such as DJs Maid To Party aka Becky, Aggy & Hannah the bridesmaids.

As the night went on, the drinks flowed and the party ramped up! From David Bowie to Stevie Wonder, Faithless to Phil Collins the music was certainly an eclectic mix – that’s a Stick It On party through and through! The running order having previously been organised, ensured the night flowed with no faults to the evermore rambunctious guests.

A balancing act of some Choons!

A special appearance from DJ Kev the Hat included Chaka Kahn, The Ojays and Shy FX towards the tail end of the night to send the party into a wild sweaty frenzy. Below you’ll find a series of photos after his namesake!

Finishing off the night with Rudimental’s Feel The Love from DJ Bungle aka Ben was a fitting climax and was clear everyone certainly was feeling the love as they wrapped up a glorious day celebrating Kelvyn & Gemma’s love!

Having the guests behind the decks and choosing the ‘choons’ for the night was a fantastic way to get everyone involved.

Wishing Kelvyn & Gemma all the best from the Stick It On team X
