The Story of an alternative Wedding Party…

Laura & Sean’s Stick It On wedding Party

On Saturday 9th April last year, we had the pleasure of providing the evening’s entertainment at  Laura Edwards and Sean Philip’s alternative wedding party. The London based couple chose the beautiful Highdown Vineyard in Worthing as the venue on what turned out to be a lovely spring day.

Our journey with Laura and Sean began almost a year beforehand, on 29th May 2015 to be precise. An enquiry was submitted to us by the then bride-to-be about our services and availability. Laura had spotted an ad for Stick It On while browsing the popular wedding website Confetti,. After swapping a few introductory emails and explaining the concept in a bit more detail, we had ourselves the booking.

Alternative Wedding Party

We kept in regular contact with Laura over the following months, firstly after we built a dedicated mini website featuring a photo of the happy couple. Via this mini wesbite, guests could submit a three song mini-DJ set to be played during the alternative wedding party. Once that was up and running we provided weekly updates as to how the DJ set submissions were coming along. Then, once the deadline for submissions had passed we handed over the list for Laura and Sean to confirm all the song choices and guest DJs.

The Party rocked!

The chosen guest DJs were contacted via email and text messages in advance to fill them in on what they needed to do on the night. We then travelled to Highdown Vineyard on the afternoon of the wedding, set up the equipment and kicked things off with a warm up set of great party tunes.  With the guests in the mood for some serious dancefloor action, 17 of the happy couple’s friends and family took to the decks over the following three hours. These very happy superstar DJs kept the party rocking until the end of the night.

Alternative Wedding Party

Laura and Sean’s wedding photographer, Roberta Matis,  took some great photos of the party, which you can see here. Our involvement with Laura and Sean’s wedding didn’t end on the day, though. We always follow up any event by providing the client’s with commemorative CDs or digital playlists of the music played by guest DJs. The DJs were contacted one last time to thank them for being a part of the alternative wedding party. As many of our guest DJs go on to book us for weddings, private parties or corporate events, it’s fair to say we regularly go down a storm.

We create interactive club nights, inspired corporate events and alternative wedding receptions that will pack the dance floor all night long. If you would like to discuss anything related to this blog post or our services in general, send an email to ysobel@stickiton.org.uk
